We were founded… “to help put mapping technologies into use by people who are trying to make the world a better place.” We are a federally designated 501(c)(3) non-profit entity, which enables access to funding sources we may not have reached without, among many other advantages.
We are people. We are volunteers, students, faculty, GIS industry professionals, and conservationists from the remote places of this earth. We are adventurers that go out and do it, and the supporters who prefer to participate in other meaningful roles. We are creative, joyous, and free, and we have a desire to share our passions and our calling.
We believe that; it is our duty as individuals to express freedom daily;
- the freedom to hear and see what is really being said, not what you want to hear
- the freedom to think and say what you really need to say, not what you’re ’supposed’ to say
- the freedom to feel the way you really feel, not how you’re ’supposed’ to feel
- the freedom to ask for what we want – that we have a better chance of having our needs net if we ask for them
- the freedom to take risks on our individual behalf, instead of ‘not rocking the boat’
Our goal is to offer our professional services to those we serve, at the lowest cost possible. We rely on earned income, donations, grants and corporate partnering to pay for our programs.
